Communication Skills Training for Teams and Employees
Your team can execute. Can they connect?
They're sharp technically and operationally, that's never been the issue. What's harder is the human side: really listening to one another, having the conversation everyone's been avoiding, giving feedback that's honest rather than polite, and trusting each other enough to be direct. That's usually the difference between a good team and a great one.
I run communication skills training for teams in Singapore to help close that gap. We go on team walks in nature, which slow the pace and ease the tension, so people say what they actually think. Every walk is built around your team and the communication goals they want to work towards.

Teams I've Worked With

What We Can Work On
I work with teams who function well day to day, but want to connect beyond tasks and functions. Maybe there's tension under the surface, someone who doesn't feel heard, feedback that keeps getting avoided, or a team that isn't quite aligned on where it's heading. Here's some of what we can focus on.
Communicating clearly across roles, levels, and functions
Building the trust to have honest, direct conversations
Handling feedback conversations in a safe and structured manner
Active listening, so colleagues feel genuinely heard and respected
Getting aligned on direction and purpose, not just the task list
Creating the psychological safety that lets people speak up
What your team walks away with
Teams I work with leave feeling more connected as people, not just colleagues working through a task. They communicate more clearly across roles and functions, feel safer having honest and constructive conversations, and are more aligned on where they're heading as a team.
People feel heard, respected, and able to speak up, and meetings feel more engaged and less one-directional. They better recognise one another's strengths and viewpoints.
What organisations notice is the trust and the quality of communication going up, more effective collaboration and decision-making, and a shift from transactional exchanges to genuine dialogue.
The shift I help a team make:
Unclear to clear
Disconnected to connected
Hesitant to confident
Surface-level to meaningful dialogue
How It Works
1
Start with a free call
Tell me about your team, what's working, what isn't, and what you'd like them to leave with. I'll suggest a format and shape a workshop around your goals, using the 6Cs framework as our map.
2
Your customised team walk
We select a venue and run the session. It's interactive and practical, built around the real conversations your team is having at work. It's communication training your people will actually use, with no slideshows to sit through.
3
Support between sessions
I share simple takeaways and exercises your team can keep using, so the workshop keeps working after the day itself. For longer engagements, we plan follow-up sessions to build on it.
Why We Walk
The best conversations rarely happen in a meeting room. So let's take it outside.
Walking side by side creates room to breathe, slow down, and speak more openly than you would sitting across from someone. The pressure drops, and the real conversation has space to happen. It's easier to think, listen, and find the words to say.
With gentle guidance and the right questions, your team finds clarity, fresh ideas, and a way of talking to each other that carries back into work. Because people experience communicating differently in the moment, rather than just hearing about it, the change is far more likely to stick.
You can choose a walk, an indoor session, or a blend of both.

What Happens on a Team Walk
Every walk is shaped around your team and your goals, and most include:
A grounding exercise to arrive, settle, and leave the busyness of the office behind
A curated walking route with a mix of group exercises and quieter pair walks
Conversation prompts, drawn from the nature around you, that open up honest and creative thinking
Deep, active listening exercises, the kind that show a team how much they normally miss
Reflection moments that turn what's come up into something the team can keep using
Out of the meeting room, the hierarchy tends to soften, the conversations get more honest, and people remember what it feels like to really listen to each other.
Real Communication that Lasts Beyond the Session
Many communication training courses are a day of techniques that fades once everyone's back at their desks. Changing how a team really talks to each other is the part I care about most.
So we start somewhere else: with the connection and trust that make communication actually work, not just the tips and tools on top.
It's practical rather than theoretical, grounded in the situations your team actually faces rather than hypothetical scenarios. Your team leaves with something they can use, not a set of models to memorise.
The 6Cs Framework Behind SixComms
People ask where the name comes from. It's a framework I've developed over 20+ years as a communication skills facilitator. There are two parts to it.
The Human Cs
Human-centred values that help to open hearts, build trust, and strengthen relationships.
Connection
Good communication should feel like a warm conversation with a friend, even with someone you have only just met.
Curiosity
My favourite of the six. When you are genuinely curious about the person in front of you, most of the hard parts of communicating take care of themselves.
Compassion
Meeting people where they are, not where you wish they were.
The Strategic Cs
The craft of shaping your message once the human element is in place.
Clarity
Do you actually know why you are saying what you are saying? Once you do, the words get simpler.
Customisation
Everyone is different, so the same message rarely lands the same way twice. We tailor it to the people who are actually in the room.
Consistency
Trust is built by showing up the same way, again and again, not in one perfect performance.
And holding all 6 together: attentive listening
The kind where you are not just waiting for your turn to speak. Most people think communication is about speaking well. But it starts with how well you hear.
We'll use the 6Cs to shape a workshop that fits your team.
What People Say About Working With Me
“
Lisa came to NLCS (Singapore) as a guest speaker at a student leadership conference and was absolutely exceptional. She had all the students engaged and active in her communication sessions. They loved it, and as a result took away deeper skills they needed for leadership.

I asked Lisa to facilitate a focus group made up of 12 pregnant and new mums, no mean feat. We had babies, bumps, hot sweats and interruptions galore, and I knew I was going to need a professional and a natural communicator. She delivered a clear plan in advance, carefully considered how to create connection and trust with this specific group, and designed communication tools that were bespoke to the audience. She met every deadline, and adapted the feedback into a digestible format for me, the client. Would I use her again? In a heartbeat. The feedback we obtained from the participants was beyond glowing.

I just wanted to give a big shout-out to Lisa and Yin Mei for their amazing work during our recent board strategy day. They really excelled at team building and making sure everyone was engaged, helping us to connect, and sorting out our priorities.

I had the pleasure of attending the Connect & Reflect workshop at Fort Canning Park with Lisa, and it was truly an amazing experience. The tranquil environment of the park provided an ideal setting for a day dedicated to reflection and connection. Lisa's friendly and engaging manner put everyone at ease, creating a strong sense of community among the participants.

Having worked closely with Lisa on the delivery of soft skills training to a cohort of new hires I am delighted to recommend her highly. Lisa is all that you could hope for in a trainer. Lisa listened carefully to the brief and training need to design impactful sessions grounded in activities and practical application of well thought out content. Online, live, training is a difficult art to master but Lisa's ability to connect with her audience and relate the content to their day to day captured the learners' attention, helping connect with each other and the material. Thanks Lisa.
